The Science of Yoga
Everything Starts with a Breath
My yoga philosophy is simple; its about you, spending time with you for your benefit. It is not about forcing your body into shapes, its about working with your body to find the best way for you to experience the yoga move and benefit from stretching and exercising all of your body... Yoga Asana
Yoga is not Asana and Asana is not yoga. Confused? Let me explain. Asana is the Sanskrit word used for the exercise element of yoga... Click the green icon above to learn more.
Why 45 minutes?
One of the advantages of having worked in secondary education is an awareness that 45 minutes is the ultimate length of time for receptive learning... Click the green icon above to learn more.
The Classes
All my yoga classes work with stretching and flexing the body and finding what works for you as an individual. We work with opposition for brain health, inversion for cardiac care and stretches that strengthen and lengthen your muscles and support your bones.
01
Yoga for the Imperfect Body
My main course Yoga for the Imperfect Body has been carefully honed following my own difficulties following complications from cancer treatment. I am delighted to bring this course to you that has grown from my own experiences and recovery.
02
Yoga for Bone Health and Osteoporosis
When practiced regularly and carefully all yoga supports bone health. This is due to the way that we work to stretch and strengthen muscles and the bone support structure through the body. I am delighted to bring Yoga for Bone Health and Osteoporosis, a carefully constructed course that concentrates on supporting the skeletal body. Explore correct ways of exercise movement and grow your practice as you support your bone health.
03
Yoga for Older People and Beginners of any age
Yoga for older people concentrates on the mind/body connection and is a series of exploration and gentle flows that you can practice at home to be that person who is sharp and still carrying groceries at 100! The initial course is designed to give you the tools for home practice and to have fun in class as you develop your practice through regular class attendance. Home practice is not essential, but everyone benefits from 5 minutes of stretching each day.

Testimonials
“I am a 72 year old woman and I have been helped by Lyn after not having done yoga any time in my earlier life. Her hints and suggestions for home practice that I do just about every day really help too. My increased flexibility and well-being is so amazing! I only wish I started sooner.”
Janet
“Lyn helped me more than I can say. Her patience and understanding are second to none and I am grateful to have found her.”
Gill

Parents, Guardians & Kids Yoga
Kids yoga is always a fun practice, we give poses fun names and by incorporating a practice that both adults and children can enjoy together it’s a win-win; the children get some physical activity whatever the weather and the adults get to practice yoga or in some cases even start their yoga journey.
Lots of children practice yoga, mindfulness is increasingly used in schools. Parents and grandparents sometimes must give up their regular yoga practice to look after children during school holidays, no experience is necessary for this fun foundational class.
A fun practice for kids, parents, grandparents and guardians. Each ticket is for 1 adult and 1 child place.
NO UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN
Now being prepared for the summer. When the first class is full an other time slot will be added.
Watch this space for upcoming classes – please contact me to go on the waiting list. Be sure to include your preferred class.
